Washington is Legit

I know you've heard it before. "Watch out for Washington in the tournament," and I bet you just brushed it off thinking that they don't stand a chance. They had just lost 3 straight games to mediocre Pac-10 teams, and they still the "experts" bombarded you with the thought of Washington being legit. I even thought they were going overboard with it. I didn't believe they could do anything. But tonight they showed once again why everybody was saying this about them. In March, when they have to win, they step it big time and refrain you from having any doubts about this team. This team is the basically the same as last year's team.

In the Pac-10 tournament last year Matthew Bryan-Amaning stepping it up and surprised all of us with an outstanding tournament performance. This year Terrence Ross and C.J. Wilcox showed the nation what they were hiding from us the whole season. Last year, Quincy Pondexter took over games and was the mental and emotional leader for the Huskies. He was the player the offense ran through and he took the last shots of games. This season, Isiah Thomas is that player. He showed that to us with a magnificent performance over Arizona.

The scariest thing about this team is that they may even be better. Venoy Overton, a senior guard and defensive specialist, was suspended from the rest of the Pac-10 tournament for supplying a minor with alcohol. If Overton plays Arizona's  guards are flustered and more turnovers are made. Another factor of this teams potential is Matthew Bryan-Amaning. Against Arizona Bryan-Amaning was not able to get into a rhythm because of foul trouble and was held to only 9 points and 4 rebounds. That is not a game that shows his true talent. He will have better games and Washington will be better than shown in LA tonight. Just imagine how they would be if Abdul Gaddy would still be healthy. Gaddy was key guard who was on the rise.

If you are looking for a team to bust some bracket I would pick Washington. They play fun basketball to watch and they know how to win. Right now I am drinking the purple kool-aid. I hope to see this team advance far into the tournament because I wanna see more of this. http://www.twitvid.com/REEX2
