Report:
This season does not look to good for Carolina. They have a new coach, a rookie quarterback, and a limited time to insert a new system because of the lockout. #1 overall pick QB Cam Newton will be the starter on opening day. Although he is a rookie it looks as if he has the team bought into what is going to do. Newton is a talented athlete who can play quarterback at a high level.  Newton's process to getting acclimated may be easier because of RB's DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Newton also has a Pro Bowl target on his side with WR Steve Smith. The Panthers gave Newton more weapons by trading for TE's Greg Olsen and signing Jeremy Shockey and Legedu Naanee. The offensive line is shaky and unpredictable. T Jordan Gross and C Ryan Kalil are the anchors of the line and are the only ones that you can trust.

The defensive line has DE Charles Johnson as the only legitimate threat. The Panthers hope that DT Ron Edwards can become one, but after a triceps injury, he's out for the remainder of the camp is doubtful for the start of the season. Linebacker is a good position for the Panthers. Jon Beason and Thomas Davis are big time players and James Anderson is an underrated linebacker. The pass defense was surprisingly good for a team that was so bad. They were ranked 1t1h, but lost CB Richard Marshall. Starting CB Captain Munnerlyn not only wins an award for an awesome name, but also is a great complementary corner to CB Chris Gamble who returns as the cornerstone. Sherrod Martin and Charles Godfrey are both underrated at safety.

Carolina went out and signed veteran kicker Olindo Mare. KR Mike Goodson is a good returner along with Captain Munnerlyn who returns punts.

Review:
This team looks as if they got better, but in the division they are in it gives them little opportunities to win. Cam Newton is future and I hope he gets used to losing because he hasn't done much losing in college. Cam Newton should have a good season, especially with a good running game and a Pro Bowl wide out. Worst record in the NFL again is a possibility for this, but I don't see it happening again.

Division Finish: TBA
